  • Brittany Kelly - Agricultural/Farmers Liason Director

I’m a backyard grower passionate about sustainable living and homegrown food. I began gardening in 2019 after my parents split, finding healing and purpose in growing everything from acorn squash and sugar baby watermelon to herbs like rosemary, lavender, and lemon balm. Over the years, my garden has expanded to include vegetables, flowers, and even loofahs. In the summer of 2025, I added chickens to our little homestead—partly due to rising egg prices, but also to give my two daughters the joy of hatching eggs and watching chicks grow.

Raising our own food isn’t just a hobby—it’s part of a bigger mission to support my family’s health. My youngest daughter has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and I manage GERD, so having fresh, nutritious food readily available makes a real difference. I’ve also spent time working on horse farms and with other livestock, gaining hands-on experience that I hope to build on by eventually raising goats and rabbits for food and other sustainable uses.
